Do you charge extra for special orders?



Sometimes. The cost is primarily based upon the quantity of cut pieces, the cut lengths, precision needed and the complexity of the cutting requirements such as shaped ends, or expedited processing.



Special orders with shaped ends, holes, patterns, or registration cutting may require a setup or tooling charge. A setup charge means it takes more time than usual to program the equipment or workspace to cut your job.

Tooling charges may be needed for custom-made knives or punches.

Please note: If we cut a job with a pattern or shape that is copyrighted, we retain ownership of all tooling manufactured for that job unless otherwise quoted. We are not liable for any copyright violations on contract cutting jobs.

Other factors include the material size, type, weight, etc. Some materials may need to run slower and require additional handling, bundling, or stacking, for example.
